Abstract
“A trial to digest” presents the real-life struggles of Dr. von Herrath as he works to
advance an immune-based approach for the treatment and prevention of type 1
(autoimmune) diabetes. This dynamic case will address some controversial
topics in translational research, looking in particular at Industry, Academic and
funding agency obstacles.
